UTS’ VOICE, a fortnightly English news publication
from Daman and widely circulated in all Union Territories of India covering Daman
and Diu, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Lakshwadeep, Pondicherry, Andaman and Nicobar,
Chandigarh and metro cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.
A star may be millions of miles away in a galaxy, a micro unit of a constellation,
but there’s no denying its sparkle or its infinitesimal beauty. Take many stars
together, and you have a brilliant constellation, a guiding force for a weary sailor.
A Union Territory often gets lost in a similar mozaic that represents the Republic
of India. “Ruled by the Union Government”, its culture, history and traditions are
all too often lost in the high pitch of the mainstream. Most people, for instance,
have “heard” of Daman, or know Goa and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as tourist
spots. But ask someone who’s lived in Goa all his life: for him, it’s a rich inheritance
of Portuguese culture, with a generous measure of Indianness mixed in. Or move further
south, to Pondicherry, where you’ll find a French influence in perfect harmony with
a Tamil identity. UTS’ VOICE
aims to capture the very pulse of Union Territories, and indeed, give them a voice.
In addition to their culture and traditions, our fortnightly will give you hard
news: from crime to politics to environmental issues and business, you’ll find it
all here.
Look no further, it’s your guiding star.
UTs’ Voice is a unique
fortnightly magazine that aims at reflecting life in the Union Territories. Apart
from news, we will also carry features and interesting bits of information related
to these areas. From crime to politics, commerce and culture, we plan to cover the
entire spectrum, and give the country an insight into the Union Territories functioning.
In this sense, our publication is one of its kinds.
