National :- Twin Blast in Hyderabad: Replica of Pre Diwali Blast of Delhi
UTS Voice

Hyderabad: As the toll in the Hyderabad blasts rose to 42, intelligence agencies found striking similarities between the twin explosions and the 2005 pre-Diwali blasts in Delhi that killed 59 people. Apart from the fact that both took place on a Saturday evening, the choice of targets and manner of execution had a lot in common.

While the AP police were trying to look for similarities between the Mecca Masjid blast and Saturday’s explosions, the latest intelligence inputs could give a new twist to the attacks.

“The day, the timing, the venues, the precision and the modus operandi all reveal remarkable similarities and make the Hyderabad blasts seem a replica of the serial blasts that struck three areas in Delhi on October 29, 2005,” an intelligence source.

While Delhi was targeted just a couple of days before Diwali, the biggest festival in north India, Hyderabadis fell victim to terror just two weeks before Vinayaka Chavithi (Ganesh festival), which is celebrated in a big way in the city.
